Alexander Barter only thought of three things: kill, rape and eat . The 21-year-old, a native of Texas, decided to search for his victim in an Internet forum. His “prey” had to be a girl. But he never imagined that he himself would fall into a trap.
Wayne Ivey, one of the officers in charge of the case, described Barter as the “sickest, disgusting and insane” person he encountered in his entire career on the force.
The investigation began after an undercover agent found a publication on the Internet, detailing his darkest wishes: “I’d like to try necrophilia and cannibalism and see what it feels like to kill someone.” Against the clock, the officer had to devise a strategy to avoid a tragedy.
This was how he pretended to be a user interested in his request and promised he could get him a victim. In the story he put together, he told the young man he would give his own daughter.
Barter did not doubt for a second about what was really happening and was relieved to get an answer so easily. Excited, he asked the alleged father the age of the girl and if he could kill her along with him. Without twists and turns, the young man explained to the officer that he did not want to do any kind of “role play” and that he only wanted to “rape her, kill her and eat her”.
The undercover policeman was determined. He would travel to Texas with the excuse of taking the alleged victim. Once there, he managed to meet Barter, who was arrested immediately. Being cornered by the authorities, the young man confessed his intentions and even thanked the agents for having prevented him from satisfying his “blood thirst” irrepressible.
Officer Ivey confirmed that the arrest was made on October 19 and that, since then, they initiated a case for attempted murder and sexual abuse of a minor, among other charges. Dismayed by what may have happened, he said at a press conference: ” There are monsters that walk among us.”
